A fresh crisis is unfolding within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the faction loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has summoned an emergency meeting just 48 hours after being expelled from the party.

DAILY POST earlier reported that the PDP, during its National Elective Convention held over the weekend in Ibadan, Oyo State, announced the suspension of Wike, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and other members aligned with the former Rivers State Governor.

Despite the announcement, the Wike-led faction appears defiant. On Monday, a notice purportedly issued by the factional National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, invited members of the National Executive Council (NEC) and the Board of Trustees (BoT) to an emergency meeting scheduled to hold at Wadata Plaza, the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja.

The invitation described the meeting as crucial, stressing the need for full attendance as “important matters will be discussed and addressed.”

The latest move signals a potential face-off between the party’s national leadership and the expelled faction, further heightening internal tensions ahead of key political developments.
