Meet Fasilat Titilayo Lawal, Osun’s First Female EHOAN President

…Pledges to Strengthen Public Health, Environmental Sanitation in Osun

The first female President of Environmental Health Officers Association, EHOAN, in Osun State, Sanitarian (Alhaja) Fasilat Titilayo Lawal, has promised to perform better by strengthening public health as well as environmental sanitation through series of initiatives.

According to Sanitarian (Alhaja) Lawal while reading his acceptance speech, reiterated her readiness to focus on strategic areas working towards research and development, capacity building for members, and public advocacy in ensuring a healthier environment for the entire residents in the state.

The newly elected President said, “I am going to work with other Executive members and all members both serving and retired as it is through this synergy that we are going to make sure the Association moves forward, the work is enormous yet the good work must continue.

“There is a need for us to complete the ongoing building construction and procure other plots of land that will be more accessible. It is also worrisome the number of unemployed qualified energetic young EHO’s that are in the labour market, though it is not peculiar to our association alone, but we need to be prayerful and sustain consistent effort to fix these young officers.

“EHOAN is an association of repute and reckoning in terms of qualified, competent, impactful and highly cerebral members.

“I will not take the confidence and trust reposed in me for granted and I promised to serve with determination towards moving our noble association to greater heights as my predecessors did as this can be achieved collectively through our unflinching support, cooperation and contributions.

“I must appreciate most especially our revered elders both serving and retired for their significant leadership roles, and my profound gratitude goes to all past presidents and their Executive members for the solid Foundation laid which is sailing us through all challenges we face as an Association.

“I cannot but salute the steadfastness, commitment and dedication of all the GMs, HLGAs, Directors, Deputy Directors and entire members of this association for their unflinching support and cooperation at all times and I acknowledge the tremendous initiatives that were undertaken by the outgoing president, San. Sunday Olufemi Ola and the rest of us who served with him.

“I will not end my speech without appreciating our South-West President, Dr Sanitarian Akinwumi Isaac Temitope and his executive members as they were fully on ground to observed the event from the beginning”.

While speaking, the EHOAN’s South-West President, Dr Akinwumi congratulated the first female President of the association and her executive.

Dr Akinwumi urged the new leadership to always pursue the programmes that will contribute to the welfare and betterment of members and entire association.
