Osun Business Mogul, Yusuf Amuda ‘Obelawo’ Dies at 94

A prominent businessman and respected community leader in Osun State, Yusuf Amuda Lawal, popularly known as Obelawo, is dead.

He passed on at the age of 94.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, signed by Bolanle Sarah Obelawo-Adedimeji, Head of the Lawal Obelawo family, described him as a prominent figure known for his leadership, integrity and commitment to service.

The statement described him as a distinguished personality whose impact was felt not only within his family and community but also across Nigeria and parts of West Africa.

According to the statement, “It is with profound gratitude and total submission to the will of the Almighty God that the family of Lawal Obelawo announces the passing of our revered patriarch, Prince Lawal Obelawo.

“Prince Lawal Obelawo (OON) was a distinguished figure whose influence and legacy extended across South West Nigeria, Nigeria at large, and throughout West Africa and other part of the world. He was a man of honour, wisdom, and unwavering integrity, devoted to the unity, progress and wellbeing of his family, community and the nation.

The family further described him as a pillar of strength and guidance whose legacy would continue to inspire generations within Nigeria and beyond.

“His life was marked by leadership, generosity, and a deep commitment to service.As a patriarch, he was a pillar of strength and guidance leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations within Nigeria and beyond.

“Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.”She added.
