The leadership of the Action Alliance in Osun State has distanced itself from a rogue faction allegedly led by a former National Chairman, Hon. Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, who was sacked by the Court of Appeal in January.

In a press statement, the Chairman of the Action Alliance in Osun State, Bunmi Adetunji, reaffirmed commitment to the party’s constitution and the rule of law.

Adetunji stated that Barr. Kenneth Udeze is the only recognized National Chairman of the party, as confirmed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The statement read apart, “The attention of the leadership of the Action Alliance in Osun State has been drawn to alleged relocation of our Party Secretariat to the secretariat of Social Democratic Party and unguarded utterances by some individuals during their gathering today.

“It’s highly embarrassing that some individuals who have been sacked by the Court of Appeal can gather and connive with rejected politicians from SDP to want to misinform members of our party in Osun State.

What’s more embarrassing is that a former National Chairman of our Party, who is expected to know the dictates of our constitution, is leading this shameful display and macabre dance in the market. Are you equating that beer parlour discussion to a Congress?

“For the sake of our members and general public, Hon. Adekunle Rufai Omoaje has been removed as the National Chairman of Action Alliance by the Court of Appeal since January this year and it’s disheartening that he is engaging in contempt of the court by parading himself as the National Chairman.

“The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has also stopped recognizing him as Barr. Kenneth Udeze is the only Chairman of Action Alliance. The defeated Chairman is only trying to create a faction and pain a false picture using Osun as his starting point but it’s obvious that our members are wiser than him and his co-travellers.

“I make bold to say that I remain the Chairman of the Action Alliance in Osun State under the national chairmanship Barr. Udeze. Anybody saying otherwise is only daydreaming. Our Secretary remains the only place we know.

“Finally to some individuals who have chosen to abandon their duties posts for this shameful act, their matters will be treated at the appropriate time.”
