A non-denominational Christian group, Christian Conscience (CC), has admonished the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, to make the plight of the poor and needy a priority when he becomes the president of the nation.
The group gave the call in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Tunji Oguntuase, adding that “CC congratulates Bola Tinubu on his success at the recently held election. We urge him to spread his tentacles to all.”
According to the group, “It will be recalled that Tinubu had done well as the governor of Lagos State and with his emergence as president-elect, all eyes will be on him both within the country and outside.
“Just like Abraham in the Bible who was the father of nations, Tinubu should see himself as the father of all and ensure that the lingering suffering in the land is tackled head-on. Let the administration be fair, just and God-fearing in all policies and actions.
“Don’t be a winner-takes-all president but form a government of inclusiveness where Nigerians will have a sense of belonging.”
The organisation also noted there is a need to douse the tension in the land and address issues of poverty and unemployment in the country, urging the president-elect to act fast and do all he can to restore the nation.
