Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has reiterated the commitment of the present administration to reform education sector that would reverse poor performance of students in public institutions.
Adeleke disclosed thos on Wednesday, at the formal commissioning of rehabilitated 2 blocks of 8 classroom and constructed fence and gate house, VIP toilet, playing arena, and reticulated borehole water at Dagbolu Community Primary School Olorunda under Osun cares in conjunction with the Osun State Community And Social Development Agency, (CSDA).
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi said that the government is will put all the decaying infrastructures back in shape in the public schools in the state.
Adeleke noted that the commissioned of the project is the fulfilment of one of the promises he made at the inception of his administration.
However, he implored the community and the school authority to ensure adequate maintenance and sustainability of the projects for the benefit of the unborn generations.
According to him, “The evidence of our Commitment to the implementation of inclusive education, the commitment of promise to launch reform with direct focus on improvement of learning environment and outcome to reverse poor performance of students in public institutions.
“Research has shown, that an enabling learning environment increases students’ attention and focus; promotes meaningful learning experiences encourages higher levels of students’ performance and motivates students to practice higher level of critical thinking skills.
“In other words, positive classroom environment will always motivate students to learn, remove negative emotions such as stress and other things that impedes teaching and learning.
“We must continually give praises to God for all the giant strides we were able to make within a duration of one hundred days, in spite of huge challenges inherited- unpaid pension and gratuity, half salary saga, gigantic projects at verge of exit from governance and a host of others exhibited by the former administration.
Speaking, the General Manager of Osun Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) Bose Abokede commenced the state government for the remarkable assistance to improve the school facilities of Community Primary School, Dagbolu through the agency under the Osun COVID 19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Program (Osun CARES), a World Bank intervention programme.
Abokede said that the governor provided fund for 93 micro projects for the protection and safety of the pupils school.
She stated that Borehole water with reticulations is scent to improve saltation and hygiene in the school.
She said, “Education is the key to eliminating inequality and reduction of poverty, hence the implementation of this project in this Community Primary School, here in Dagbolu to provide a conducive place for teaching and learning.
“The Executive Governor of Osun State is committed and dedicated to the linprovement of importantly very good performance of the pupils in their examinations basic economic and social conditions of the communities in Osun State Indeed, our Governor is walking his talk on his 5 Pont Development Agenda to ensure that electoral promises are translated into needed social amenities and development through Oson State Community and Social Development Agency (Osun CSDA) under the Osun COVID 19. Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Program (Osun CARES), a World Bank intervention Programme Osun CSDA is the agency that make use of community Driven Development (CDD), bottom-up approach and primarily finance Micro projects intiated by communities
“I must thank Dagbolu Community, Parents and Teachers of this Community school, for their contribution and participation before and during the implementation of these micro projects as this has entrenched ownership and sustainability.
“It is therefore expected that you will take care and ensure maintenance of the school buildings, furniture and equipment so that these facilities can serve the community for years to come.” she said
However, Headmistress, teachers of Community Primary School Dagbolu, and the community commended the state governor and CSDA for their good gesture towards the education sector in the state.
