Referees at the ongoing AFCON have issued a total of seven red cards in the five knockout games played at various stadiums in Cameroon.

On Sunday, the game between Burkina Faso and Gabon at the Stade Limbe, Limbe saw a red card issued to Gabon’s Sidney Obissa in the 67th minute. The game ended 8-7 after penalties in favour of Burkina Faso.

The second match of the day between Nigeria and Tunisia at the Stade Roumde Adjia, Garoua which the Super Eagles lost by a lone goal had Alex Iwobi sent off in the 66th minute, seven minutes after he was brought on.

The Guinea vs Gambia game on Monday at the Stade Kouekong, Bafoussam saw Gambia’s Yusupha Njie and Guinea’s Ibrahim Conte sent off in the dying minutes of the game. The match ended 1-0 in favour of Gambia.

The next match on the same day between host nation, Cameroon and Comoros at the Stade Olembe, Yaoundé saw the captain of Comoros, Nadjim Abdou sent off in the seventh minute. The game ended 2-1.

On Tuesday at the Stade Kouekong, Bafoussam, Cape Verde were two men down by 57th minute of the clash with Senegal after Patrick Andrade and goalkeeper Vozinha were given the matching rule.

At the time of press, the game between Morocco and Malawi was ongoing.
