Super Eagles have reacted to the recent death of some of their supporters amid the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Ivory Coast.
DAILY POST reports that at least five Nigerians died while watching the AFCON semi-final match between the Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Wednesday night.
The match was tension-soaked even as the Super Eagles defeated South Africa in penalty shootouts after the match ended in a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes.
According to reports, those who died watching the match included a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Cairo Ojougboh; a corps member serving in Adamawa State, simply identified as Samuel; Deputy Bursar, Kwara State University, Malete, Ayuba Abdullahi; and Mikail Osundiji of Olomoore area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.
