With the U.S. Open excitement all around, the ‘City Brights’ shoes light up the tennis court with bright greens, reds, and browns reflecting Gauff’s lively personality. But it was the personal revelation behind why the shoes mattered more than her previous releases that resonated all around.
The kicks are scrawled across with color strips and hidden “Easter eggs” inspired by her family scattered all over the shoe. But hidden in the design of the eye-catching pair are also small details inspired by her family, from her father’s sayings from her childhood to her mother’s advice. Gauff explained, “When I’m on court, I like to be reminded of my family, so I wanted to include that.”
Gauff further added, “That was the inspiration behind this colorway.” Family has always been a big factor in the young star’s rise to the top of the tennis world. In fact, her entire journey with New Balance as her sponsor has been a family-driven affair from the start.
