Some angry youths have laid siege and attacked the palace of the Irigwe paramount ruler, Mbra Ngwe, in Bassa local government area of Plateau State.
The troops of the Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) on Friday confirmed the attack but said the reasons for the attack on the traditional ruler were not known at the time of filing this report.
A statement issued by the OPSH military information officer, Major Ishaku Takwa, said troops of Operation Safe Haven had been mobilised to the scene to ensure law and order.
No record of deaths or injuries has been registered during the mayhem, while destruction of property was not also reported as at the time of gathering the reports.
Bassa local government area has been persistently attacked by gunmen and hoodlums in recent times, throwing communities into crisis and the state into panic.
