Osun state government has called on parents and guardians to warn their children against hooliganism, saying any Students caught in the act both in primary and secondary schools will face wrath of the law.

Jamiu Olawumi, the Special Adviser to Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Education, said any Student found wanting through unlawful act in school uniform or caught within school premises would be prosecuted by the court of law.

While clarifying the clash between Osogbo Grammar school and Osogbo Technical school students, he said the students were fought somewhere in Alekuwodo area of Osogbo, Osun State capital not in their school premises but they were only identified with their school uniforms.

Speaking yesterday on ‘Oro Oselu’, a radio programme of Rave FM, an Osogbo-based broadcast station, Olawumi said that Osun state government has took necessary step that would prevent such incident in the state owned schools.

He further said that the government has also summoned parents and old Students of each school for proper handling of incident.

According to him, “Those Students that perpetrate the clash between Osogbo Grammar school and Osogbo Technical school were arrested by police. Any Students that take charms or cutlass while going to school it shows he/she have ulterior motive and if caught will face the wrath of the law”

In another vein, the SA disclosed that applicants of the teachers’ recruitment in the state would start receiving alert message for their interview this week.

Olawumi explained that the state would conduct an interview for Eleven thousand (11,000) applicants across the state.

Recall that Osun government announced the requirement of two thousand five hundred teachers in the state in April 20, 2020.
