A prominent Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Kazeem Afolabi on Saturday dismissed insinuation making the round that his principal who is currently the National Secretary of the party, Senator Iyiola Omisore is at war with immediate past Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the state.

According to Hon. Afolabi in a press statement issued and made available to journalists to debunk the allegation in his Ipetumodu home town of Osun State “the attention of Senator Iyiola Omisore and his faithfuls have been drawn to a malicious publication alleging that the Ile-Ife born politician has launched a plot against Mr Gboyega Oyetola.

“I wish to inform members of the public that this report is completely false, baseless and malicious and I am delighted to assure all that Otunba Omisore’s relationship with Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola remain healthy while I urge anyone with contrary information to provide facts to substantiate the ludicrous report..

” Unequivocally, there is no cold war between the two APC leaders as their relationship grows stronger daily and very cordial in which it is difficult for anyone to polarise them”.

Recall that some online and newspapers have reported that the cold war between the two APC leaders was on misappropriation of the funds released by the national secretariat of the party to Senator Omisore for the July 16, 2022 governorship election in which Senator Omisore allegedly cornered about 70% of the funds released to him to prosecute the governorship election.

Another allegation levelled against Senator Omisore according to the reports was the intention of positioning himself to contest the 2026 governorship election under the platform of APC.

The report added that, “Senator Omisore’s governorship ambition infuriated Mr Oyetola and some faithfuls of President Bola Tinubu”.

Hon. Afolabi further described the report as misleading, ridiculous and preposterous saying ” it is just a campaign of calumny which is aimed at misleading Nigerians”.

He however appealed to all members of the party across the board and entire Nigerians to disregard the rumour.

Engr Kazeem Afolabi equally used the opportunity to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his giant strides at repositioning Nigeria to become an envious nation to others and to rewrite JAPA to become JAPADA

He submitted.
