President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, has said the All Progressives Congress-led government is rewarding rural communities that voted the party into power with road infrastructure.

He added that the APC will not relent in its efforts geared toward rural development in its bid to change Nigeria’s history in the area of infrastructure.

Lawan stated this in Abia State on Friday while inaugurating projects attracted by the Senator Representing Abia North Senatorial District and Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu.

Speaking at one of the Roads constructed in Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area of the state, Lawan commended the people the Senatorial district for voting for the APC in 2019, pointing out that they were reaping the benefits of the choice they made during the last general elections.

He reminded the people that another investment time was around the conner and urged them to make the right choice by voting the APC in 2023.

He said, “I want to thank you for sending Senator Kalu to the Senate and I can assure you that he is doing well in Senate.

“We will continue to work with him to bring the dividends of democracy to your communities because we believe the country cannot develop until the farmers in the rural communities are able to transport their farm products to urban areas for sales.

“That’s why President Mohammadu Buhari has above all insisted that the Agriculture sector must develop to make food available for Nigerians and to achieve that there must be good access road to transport food produce to the markets.

“My final charge to you all is that you should continue with your support for the APC because any vote given to the APC in 2023 is an investment made for the construction of more rural roads”.

The inaugurated projects includes a 2 kilometers road with drainage and asphalt at Nvurunvu community Uturu and a 2Km in Amibo Chima ,in Isuikwuato Local Government Area.

Others were a 2km Agbo, Amoji Lodu Ring road and a 4km road in Amaoke Item- Uzo rubber Ohafia main road, a 2 KM Road Amankalu Alayi and a 5KM in Igbere Bende Local Government Area.

Other projects commissioned by the president of the Senate were a 5KM road in Agbaja Nkporo and 3 Boreholes in Agbaja,Amuri and Enugwu in Nkporo Ohafia Local Government Area.

All the roads commissioned had dubble drainage and asphalt.
