The Special Adviser to the Governor on Cooperatives and Empowerment has congratulated Hon.Taofeek Ajilesoro for the victory at the Court of Appeal and described it as another well-deserved victory.
Reacting to the court verdict, Durojaye, in a statement he personally signed, said the People’s Democratic Party in Ifeland, worked very hard for the victory enjoyed at the February 15th National Assembly election, noting that today’s Appeal Court’s decision, which was in favour of Hon. Ajilesoro is comforting and also an affirmation of the will of Ife Federal Constituency electorates who filed out to cast their ballots for the PDP and Ajilesoro as their choice.

Durojaye said, “The people of Ife federal constituency have spoken through the ballots and the Court has also validated the citizens’ decision by today’s judicial pronouncements, which upheld the victory of Ajilesoro during the 2023 National Assembly poll.”
The Special Adviser said the good people of Ife federal constituency were not in doubt as regards the mandate freely given to Hon. Ajilesoro to steer the ship of the federal constituency for another four years based on his track records and laudable achievements during his first term as a Member of House of Representatives.
According to Durojaye: “What we are witnessing today is the beauty of democracy and the rule of law. We had an election in February this year where thousands of electorates voted to elect Ajilesoro as the Representative of Ife federal constituency and Member of House of Representatives.
“I ordinarily thought that the loser should have displayed good spirit of sportsmanship by congratulating the winner (Ajilesoro) but he chose to contest the election results, which is within his rights. Now, that the election and the results have been upheld by the Court of Appeal. This has laid to rest electoral battle at the Election Petition Tribunal and concentrate on delivering dividends of democracy to the people of his Ife federal constituency.
“I congratulate Hon. Ajilesoro Taofeek and Peoples Democratic Party, Ife federal constituency on this well-deserved victory at the Appeal Court.
“I also congratulate the leadership and members of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, and Ifeland people at home and in the Diaspora on this very landmark judicial victory.”
Durojaye, therefore, urged Ifeland people across party divide “to team up with Hon. Ajilesoro to deliver the real dividends of democracy to the people of Ifeland.
“Today’s judicial verdict is a victory for democracy and the rule of law,” he said.
