Olateju Ishola, personal assistant to immediate past Governor of the state of Osun and incumbent Minister of Interior,
Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has called on
the security personnel to fish out those behind his attack and bring them to justice.
It was recall that on Sunday, March 28, 2021, number of hoodlums Allegedly attacked Aregbesola’s aide and others who were in company with him to graced a birthday event in Osogbo.
Ishola made the call on Wednesday while journalists in Osogbo, Osun State capital, described the attack on him as premeditated and political
He reiterated that the attack on him,.Kehinde Adeniyi, Rasheed Ropo, Wale Omolola and Dare Ogundotun was pure assassination attempt, adding that despite the attempt of the perpetrators to cover-up could not escape the scrupulous investigations of our law enforcement agencies.
According to him, “I call on the security agents to investigate the claims and involvement in the attack.
“To all intents and purposes, the assailants came to maim, abduct and (eventually) assassinate me as their principal victim in the onslaught. The entire events suggested attacks on any other victim as mere decoy.
“The perpetrators could attempt a cover-up, I trust they cannot escape the scrupulous investigations of our law enforcement agencies. Let it be reiterated that the attack on me was pure assassination attempt. It had nothing to do with any other event or catastrophe with which any person or group may treacherously attempt to get it associated.
“I did not foresee in the least a situation where what happened to me would have happened; basically because of the spirit of collegiality I believed was in vogue within the party (All Progressives Congress, APC) fold in the state.
“The people spreading the misinformation that I objected to Oyetolas song praise at the party were telling outright falsehood. I suspect they were all aware of the planned attack, hence the need to quickly come out with cover-up story.he added
