A group, Better Nigeria For All, BNFA, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to recall Ambassador Adejare Bello over his misconduct in Osun on Friday.
THESOURCE report that the Ambassador to Mexico publicly slapped one Mr Adeniyi Akinromade , a journalist working with Osun State Broadcasting Corporation, OSBC, while rendering social service along Oke-Fia in the state capital, Osogbo.
In a statement jointly signed by its Chairman and Secretary, Comrade Adewale, Comrade Kolapo on Saturday and made available to newsmen condemned the conduct of the ambassador to the journalist.
The group which frowned at the Ambassador to Mexico’s attitude to the journalist said to be directing vehicle in a traffic, told Buhari to immediately hand over Ambassador Adejare Bello to police for investigation and prosecution.
BNFA also expressed worry with entrusting Ambassador Adejare Bello with welfare and security of Nigerians in diaspora saying he could not even tolerate his fellow indigence in his state of origin.
BNFA press statement reads in part ” We found it as misrepresentation by the good people of Osun, who are known for high level of discipline and virtue that Ambassador Adejare Bello could assault fellow citizen by slapping him publicly in the state he has served as speaker of the house of assembly.
“He did not only assaulted the citizen by violating his fundamental human rights but also demonstrated impunity and arrogant that he can not be checkmate by the law.
“This has shown that President Muhammadu Buhari has wrongly appointed Honorable Adejare Bello as Ambassador to Mexico, who will be in charge of the affairs of Nigerians in the south American country.
“A man who could not obey traffic in his state of Origin nor tolerate his fellow indigence can never be entrusted with welfare and security of Nigerians in diaspora.
“We are calling on President Muhammadu Buhari as a matter of urgency to recall Ambassador Adejare Bello, hand him over to the police for proper investigation and prosecution” the group said.
