Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi has been affirmed by the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja as the senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ebonyi South senatorial district.
On Friday, the court dismissed an appeal by Ann Agom-Eze and set aside the judgement of the Federal High Court and all its orders.

It held that the High Court was wrong for upholding Agom-Eze’s Counter-affidavit and failed to uphold the primary election of 9th June, 2022, which produced Umahi as the APC senatorial candidate.
The court held that the governor’s nomination was never challenged within 14 days as prescribed by section 285(9) of the 1999 Constitution.
A court had recognised Mrs Ann Agom-Eze who placed second at the May 28 primary election as the candidate but ordered a re-run of the election within 14 days.
