President Muhammadu Buhari has said the death of the president of the United Arab Emirate (UAE), Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed “has robbed the world of one of its visionary and most remarkable leaders of modern times.”
In a statement issued on Friday by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, Buhari noted that it was impossible to write about the social and economic transformation of the UAE without the recognition of the significant and immeasurable contributions of the late president.
“It is on record that today, the UAE is ranked among the most economically developed countries and the second biggest economy in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
“Even a cursory observer cannot fail to notice the level of transformation that has taken place in the UAE in areas such as infrastructure, housing, education, health care and social welfare,” he stated.
