Member of the #RevolutionNow movement, Osun state on Thursday, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to leave the corridors of power honorably, if he cannot guarantee the safety of lives and properties of Nigerians citizens.

They made the call during a peaceful protest in Osogbo, Osun State, demanding the entrenchment of best democratic practices in Nigeria.

Leader of the group, Fagunwa Maberu said Nigerian citizens deserve a better life in the 21st century.

Maberu lamented that Buhari’s administration has failed to put first, the interest of the masses, adding that their act is worsening the situation of the haves not in the country.

According to him, “The insecurity that is happening in eastern part of the country is the failure of the people in power. Any government that cannot guarantee the protection of her citizens; that government has failed.

“There is no need for us to negotiate or discuss that this government has failed to protect the lives of our people and has no reason to remain in power.

“Globally, governments are talking about palliatives for COVID-19 and the Nigerian government increased the price of electricity tariff and fuel while we are undergoing the crisis of the coronavirus pandemic.

“This present administration has no reason whatever to remain in power. This government has option of leaving the space (power) honorably, if they fail to leave honorably the mass of the people nationally will rise against them.” he said
