Francis Ngannou has called the officials for his fight against Tyson Fury ‘a pack of hyenas’ for what he perceives to be bias towards the boxer.

The 37-year-old surprisingly took Fury the ten-round distance in his professional debut, knocking the Brit down in the third round and boxing well enough to convince many observers that he deserved the nod on the scorecards.

A split-decision saw Fury keep his undefeated record and some pride.

One man who was initially firmly on Ngannou’s side was Carl Froch. The former super-middleweight champion scored the result ‘by two or three rounds’ to the challenger and even called the official result ‘corruption at the highest level.’

After a rewatch, he spoke on his YouTube channel about it being much closer.

“I watched it back, cause I’m a consummate professional, when I say something I like to make sure I can stand by my convictions with honesty. I have to say, when I watched it on the night it looked Ngannou beat up Fury with dropping him, but I think it was the shock factor of the left hook.

But when you watch it back and score it with the volume off, it’s closer. I’m still gonna say Ngannou won the fight, because for me he beat up Fury. But when you score it you really can make a case for Tyson Fury winning the fight, only by one or two rounds.

So I’m standing by Ngannou winning the fight … but with a fresh mind the fight could’ve gone either way. It depends what you like.”

There wasn’t a huge appetite for the fight in the first place from a competitive standpoint, but now there are legitimate and worthy calls for a rematch.

Unfortunately for Ngannou, who wants it next, Fury is tied up in a contract with Oleksandr Usyk to fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship.
