A few days ago, Novak Djokovic rated Carlos Alcaraz highly talented and rated him way ahead of the Big 3 in terms of skills while they were his age. Considering his age, Novak made a brave statement regarding him as a perfect combination of all three players, namely, him, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer. Carlos was hugely admired by this statement and replied selflessly to these remarks.
Carlos was thankful to Novak Djokovic and considered himself faithful to have been complimented by someone as great as him. And having been compared to the likes of Rafa and Federer, he feels extremely thankful but denies straightaway these comparisons.
As per the proffesional tennis player himself, he is not at all trying to recreate the styles that the ‘BIg-3’ has been using for the past few decades and says that he believes in only himself and no one else.
He said, “It’s great someone like Novak says these things about you. Someone who played against the best Nadal, against the best Federer, & says I have some things about them. It’s great for me.”
Continuing his train of thoughts, he further added, “But I don’t totally agree because I always say I’m full Carlos Alcaraz. I didn’t put styles like Rafa, like Roger, like Novak. I just try to follow my own path, try to create Carlos Alcaraz. I always say that. I’m believing that I’m not the characteristics of anyone but Carlos Alcaraz”
The amount of dominance Rafa, Novak, and Roger have had in recent years is simply unparalleled, and very few in the world expect their records to be matched in the future. From 2003 to 2023, it has been a journey worth remembering for every tennis fan. From Roger Federer’s 2003 Wimbledon victory until the latest Roland Garros win by Novak this year, where would the sport be if it hadn’t been for these three stars?
While their careers have slowly progressed to the end, many comparisons have occurred in recent times, with fans finding their counterparts for the future.
