The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of consistently engaging in election malpractice, stating that the party has never won an election through popular vote.

In a statement signed by National Secretary of CUPP, Chief Peter Ameh, alleged that the APC has a history of manipulating the electoral process, citing the 2015 presidential election and the 2023 general election as examples.

The CUPP Secretary expressed concerns about the upcoming 2027 general elections, calling on Nigerians to unite and resist any attempts by the APC to rig the elections.

He emphasized that a united people can never be defeated and urged Nigerians to stand against corruption and election manipulation.

The statement read, “APC does not even believe in a free and fair election, it was only under APC presidency led by Muhammadu Buhari that the circle of the law Governing the administration of Election jurisprudence in Nigeria was broken when he refused to sign the electoral act in 2019.

“It’s been malpractice after malpractice and arm twisting of our electoral process to win.

“Kano returned over 2 million votes without a single void vote and incidentally the resident Electoral Commissioner who raised an objection about the process and validity of those ballots got burnt to death with some members of his family in his house in Kano state days after. And the use of incident form for the 2015 presidential election compromised the validity, credibility and integrity of that election.

“Then fast forward to 2023 General Election where BVAS was unable to upload results of the Presidential election to IREV in real time and that lead to the manipulation of the electoral process.

“I am not confident about 2027 General elections but we should organize and resist any attempt by rejected leaders to force themselves on us through rigging and corruption of the country’s elections.

“A people united can never be defeated,” it added.
