The Landlords and landladies affected by road dualisation projects in Osun State have appealed to Governor Ademola Adeleke for due compensation to save them from economic challenges.

The group of people under the aegis of Landlords and Landladies Association in Osogbo, said that their livelihood has not been easy since the demolition of their businesses since 13 years ago.

The dualisation and expansions of roads that began from Orita Olaiya – Old Garage – Ayetoro – Ikirun to Kwara state boundary constructed by Rauf Aregbesola’s led administration.

Speaking to newsmen on behalf of others, the chairman of Landlord and Landladies Association, Moshood Oladejo, said that the building demolished for the road dualisation projects valued at N750 million in 2012, saying that it is important that state government pay the compensation at approach time.

Oladejo said that the Oyetola led administration paid first tranches in 2022, urging Governor Ademola Adeleke to consider the payment of the remaining five tranches to safe their soul.

According to him, “The State government released first tranches us in 2022. Governor Ademola Adeleke promised to pay us remaining tranches during the electioneering campaign.

“From Orita Baba Onisekere – Ayetoro – Igbona Adenle – Olonkoro – Ajegunle – Old Garage – MDS and Orita Olaiya with the total value at N750 million.

“We hereby specifically appeal and ask for safe our soul from our governor. His Excellency Governor Dr. Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke, Osun state number one citizen. To pay our compensation as the law stated.

“Since the dualization of the road in 2012, We have lost about 10 members to death due to the situation we find ourselves. We have had series of meetings with the government agencies, ministry of land and physical planning Osogbo” he said.
