Gunmen have killed a Divisional Police Officer, CSP Fatmann Dooiyor, during a gun battle between men of Omuma division in Oru-East LGA of Imo State and men of the underworld.

A report from the state police command revealed that eleven bandits were arrested during the attack.

According to a press release signed by Michael Abattam, the state Police Public Relations Officer, “eleven of the hoodlums were arrested after the bandits were neutralized in the gun duel.

“The bandits were sighted moving in convoy into Omuma area when the tactical team of the command was alerted which immediately launched an attack on the hoodlums.

“Unfortunately, the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Fatmann Dooiyor, paid the supreme price,” the release disclosed.

Items recovered from the hoodlums include two Toyota Highlander SUV jeeps and a milk-coloured unregistered Lexus jeep.

The Imo State Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, warned bandits to keep off the state or face dire consequences.

Omuma, according to reports, is governor Hope Uzodinma’s hometown.
