The President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention Youth Conference, NBCYC, Pastor Enunuaye Onajite has congratulated Christians, especially, youth for marking this year’s Easter.
In a statement personally signed by him, he urged Christians to continue to be resilient in the face of adversity and hopelessness saying that victory is assured as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
He encouraged Baptist youths to attend the forthcoming Youth Night which will be held at Baptist International Conference Centre, BICC, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lufuwape, Ogun state on Saturday, April 23, 2022 with the theme “Youth Entering into Newness through Praise”.
He urged youths to pre-register for the event on www.nbcyc.org and ensure full participation in the programme and all 109th-in-Session programmes of the Nigerian Baptist Convention which will hold between Saturday 23 and Thursday 28, 2022 at BICC.
He said “The season is here to celebrate persecution, crucifixion, death and resurrection of the saviour of the world, our Lord Jesus Christ.
“The celebration is different because it is the hallmark of Christianity as our faith would have been in vain if Jesus had not resurrected.
“I urge all Christians across the globe and youths in particular especially, youths of Baptist extraction to celebrate modestly and use the period to seek God’s face.”
On the NBCYC Youth Night, Onajite said “2022 Youth Night is special and promises to be great. This year, we are praising God for His faithfulness over Baptist youths with Psalm 100.
He stated that “Our theme, Youth Entering into Newness through Praise was divinely given because Baptist youths would enter a newness of life in Christ Jesus through the programme.”
He added that special guests have been invited to minister at the programme. They include, the Director, Youth and Student Ministries, NBC, Rev Dr SAK Olaleye, Coordinator, Youth Ministry, NBC, Rev J.S IbukunOluwa, and Pastor, Praise Baptist Church, Sango-Ota, Rev Israel Ayuba.
Others are Rev Dr Julius Omomola, Pastor, New Heritage Baptist Church, Lagos, Pastor Peter Udin and a talented Jos-based gospel artist, Bro. Jay Nyam among others.
