The Deputy Chief Whip, Osun State House of Assembly, Honourable Gbenga Ogunkanmi has congratulated Muslims across the state on Eid-el-Kabir, urging them to protect themselves and their families against the raging Coronavirus.

Ogunkanmi in a statement he personally signed on Thursday and made available to newsmen in his hometown, Ileogbo, said Eid El-Adha is a time of true reflection

Stressing that Eid El-Adhar honours the obedience and steadfastness of Prophet Ibrahim to accept Allah’s directive, Ogunkanmi urged Muslims to adhere to the injunctions and not bask in the euphoria of the festivities alone.

The lawmaker representing Ayedire state constituency encouraged Cleanliness, Personal Hygiene and Keeping A Safe Environment to curb the spared of COVID-19 in our community.

He said “As we celebrate Eid, let us take to all precautions and celebrate modestly. May the Blessings of Eid extend to our homes and be of benefit to our land.”

According to him, “The COVID-19 has taught numerous things. To persevere, embrace cleanliness, personal hygiene and keeping a safe environment.

“As we pray for the Almighty to heal our land from this dreaded pandemic, let us use the occasion of Eid further engender our continued call for sustained peace and progress in our motherland.

“Let us seek peace with our neighbours, embrace communal peace and progress as well as radiate love among all men.

“May the Almighty Allah make this Eid a pave front for the goodness of God in our lives.”

“On this auspicious occasion, May the Peace and Benediction of Almighty Allah be with you and your household. Eid El-Adha.

He urged Muslims while celebrating to remain law abiding citizens during and after the period while using the season to pray for Osun and Nigeria at large.
