The General Manager, Osun Waste Management Agency, OWMA, Sanitarian Fatai Oladosu Oyewole, has urged Osun State residents to always make clean environment a permanent habit, that goes beyond occasions and festivities.
Sanitarian Oyewole made this known in a press statement where he felicitates the Muslim faithfuls across the state as they join other faithfuls globally in celebrating the Eid-el-Fitri which symbolise the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
The OWMA General Manager, noted that personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness, formed integral teachings of Islam, that should become permanent features of the daily living beyond the Ramadan period.
According to Sanitarian Oyewole, “Islam teaches cleanliness at the personal level, in our residents and the environment. Islam abhors filth and dirtiness anywhere around us.
“I appeal that we make this great teaching a permanent feature of our daily lives and living as whatever we put into the environment is what it will give back, so let us maintain good hygiene at the domestic front as well as the larger environment, all for our own benefits”.
While wishing the citizens of the state happy Eid-el-Fitri celebration, Sanitarian Oyewole urged them to shun reckless waste disposal at street corners, road medians, side walks, and other unauthorized locations.
The OWMA boss who enjoined residents to contact OWMA State Headquarters to report any service gaps for quick response assured that the PSP operators and refuse dumping trucks would not relent in their responsibilities while the agency would always provide backup services in areas that require such while admonishing motorists to drive with caution at this period, to ensure safety of sanitation workers on major roads.
The management of the OWMA in the statement congratulates Governor Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke and entire family on the celebration of the Eid-el-Fitri.
The Agency in the statement, also extends their congratulatory message to the state Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Azeez Akinleye and Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Hon Teslim Igbalaiye.
However, I also want to congratulates the Honorable Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Hon Mayowa Adejorin, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Sanitation, Hon Babatunde Adeniyi Balogun, all the cabinet members and the legislature for the support given to Mr Governor adequately, Eid Mubarak.
