Osun State Polytechnic Iree Alumni Association (OSPAA) has congratulated Muslims all over the world on the celebration of the Eid-el- Kabeer festival.
The President of the Association, Alh Yakub Akeem Adebayo urged members of Osun state Polytechnic Iree Alumni Association to see God as the cornerstone of their existence and worship Him diligently and sincerely.
This is contained in a congratulatory message issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the Alumni Association, Adekunle Sikiru (Abacus) in Osogbo, the Osun State Capital.
According to the President, the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha is to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to Allah SWT and his readiness to sacrifice his son, Ismail. At the very point of sacrifice, Allah SWT replaced Ismail with a ram, which was to be slaughtered in place of his son.
This command from Allah SWT was a test of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness and commitment to obey his Lord’s command, without question.
The Alumni President urged Muslims across the globe to remain steadfast and use the period of Eid-el-kabeer festival to pray fervently and promote the teachings of Islam by creating mutual relationship with Allah and seek his forgiveness and guidance in all ramifications.
The association through the press release added that Eid el kabeer is not just a celebration of festival alone but a period for all human being to love one another, live in peace and harmony, and the period to exchange gifts and associate with the less privileged in the society.
The alumni therefore affirmed that the association will not relent in creating and promoting welfare package package programmes for its members across the globe, urging them to collaborate with Alumni by assisting the less privileged members in the country.
