A socio political group, Opomulero Osun has urged Muslim faithfuls not to forget the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir in a hurry and remain steadfast in ensuring religious tolerance among people of various faith.
In the message signed by its PRO Oluomo Sunday Akere, the group enjoined Muslims in the country to pray against insecurity and remain courageous in this period of socio-economic difficulty rather than embrace criminality.
At a period like this, what must be uppermost in our mind is reflecting on the message and lessons of the celebration as passed to us by Prophet Ibrahim in the holy Quaran.
The lesson of absolute trust and loyalty towards the unfailing promise of Allah that made Prophet Ibrahim believe that in sacrificing his only son, Ismail.
The only thing that is sacrosanct and paramount is carrying out the instructions of Allah.
Also, while remaining hopeful that Allah too will never forsake those that serves him faithfully, like he did with Prophet Ibrahim, by replacing Ismail with a ram at the point of carrying out the sacrifice.
“Our supplications and prayers should be centered on the continued peace, wisdom for our leaders and understanding from the led in the State of Osun, Nigeria and the world as a whole.
“We must support Governor Gboyega Oyetola to remain focused in the delivery of dividend of democracy and good governance which will continually endeared our party, the All Progressives Congress APC and government to the heart of the people of the state and ease the task of reelection next year.
“While doing this, we must also take necessary precautions in stemming the spread of the deadly Covid-19 virus and the prevailing third spike. We must also be more conscious of security around us by quickly reporting any strange movement so as to assist the government in overcoming the challenge of banditry, kidnapping, terrorism and loss of peace of mind that is ravaging our nation now. Nigeria and Osun belongs to all of us and we must collectively work for its unity and oneness.
“Let our lives radiate the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) while we imbibe the culture of brotherly love to keep us together”, it reads.
