The Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in State of Osun, Hon Rasaq Salinsile has sent messages of goodwill to Nigerians and Muslims in particular on the occasion of this year’s Eid-El-Kabir festival.
He urged continued prayers to Allah in surmounting the plague of Covid-19 pandemic and need to support government’s efforts at all levels.
Salinsile made his goodwill message on Thursday in his Eid-El-Kabir Message to Nigerians, which was made available to newsmen in Osogbo.
He called on Muslims and Nigerians in general to live up to the highest ideals of religious beliefs, including the fear of God, selfless service, honesty, justice, equity, fairness, peace and harmonious co-existence with others.
The former lawmaker admonished Nigerians to dedicate and commit themselves to Allah’s virtues toward overcoming old and emerging challenges facing the nation.
“I urge all to take inspiration from the exemplary virtues demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim through his sacrifice, patience, steadfastness, generosity and obedience to Allah’s command and constituted authority.
“Our country, Nigeria and the world at large need fervent prayers from the Muslims and other peace loving Nigerians for it to surmount the pamdemic ravaging nations of the earth and overcome the numerous challenges facing our country.
“Nigeria remains the only country we can call our own, it is time we all join hands and pray for divine intervention in getting it out of the numerous challenges presently weighing it down,” he said.
While wishing all Nigerians happy Sallah celebration, he appealed to the good people of Osun on the need to adhere to safety protocols being spelled out by government and to take responsibility.
