Residents of Idi-igba/Songbe, Ejigbo Local Government, have called on Osun State Government and SUBEB to rebuild the dilapidated Idi-igba/Songbe Community Grammar School for the brighter future of young generation in the area to get access to quality education.

It was gathered that the aged long community Grammar school was
established in 1980s lacks educational equipment that could enhance the academy standard of the citadel.

TheSource also gathered that Community Grammar School serves not less than 12 communities in the area which are; Songbe, Idi-igba, Ibogunde, Olorin, Ajitena, Molosan Owo, Onilu-Merin, Ayegunle, Ilegun among others, at Ejigbo South Local Council Development Area of Osun.

While speaking with our correspondent during the weekend, the Secretary of Community Development Foundation, Comrade Mustapha Akintegbe
said the school has been suffering substandard infrastructural facility and Inadequate of tutors to handle subjects effectively for many years.

He also lamented poor condition of the laboratory and practical hall of the school.

According to Akintegbe, the structure and classrooms of the school does not befit where human being should be learning adding that the school has to be given proper attention needed in order to compete with other 21st century schools around tte world where everything is digitalized.

He urged the Osun State government under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola to provide the conducive environment for the young generation to be able to meet up with their colleagues in education standard.

According to him, “Since the establishment of the school in1980, no hand of government has been layed upon any structure of this school, and there is no equipment that can enhance the academy standard which can make the environment conducive for the student learn effectively up till today.

“The school has produced Kings, Director of Government Officers , Politicians, Educationists, Scholars, Imams and Pastors, C.E.O’s of Different Companies, Engineers, Builders, Council Managers,Medical Doctors among others.

“The education of the upcoming future leader must be a priority in our dear community, Osun State and Nigeria at large. We remain firm to preach the education of every child as a light, it illuminate the mind and we believe that once a mind is enlightened no amount of chains can keep it in bondage.

“We are using this medium to call the attention of SUBEB CHAIRMAN , Commissioner For Education ,The Chairman Committee On Education At State Of Osun House Of Assembly, and Governor Gboyega Oyetola to assist us to rebuild the dilapidated structure of our school” he said.

While speaking at the occasion, Aliyu Mainasara pointed out that the Services will run from Monday to Saturday three times in a day with a token of N200 per trip from Bauchi station to Inkil Community stressing that each trip will be accompanied by security personnel to protect passengers and their belongings. According to him, "The train has the capacity of conveying between 70 to 100 passengers with comforting facilities on each trip". The RDM however said that full services will commence on Monday, September 5, 2022 with daily and monthly schedules saying that the North-Eastern district had not run a single train in the last seven years due to challenges posed by insecurity and vandalization of its tracks . The RDM stressed that, "The initiative will accord the citizens and children to test the rail services because there are people who don't have experience of rail services. With this, the children from schools would go for an excursion from Bauchi station to Inkil Community that is five kilometers from Bauchi station". He then assured that, "By the end of this year, we will extend the services to Alkaleri local government area of the state up to Gombe state respectively" . He also said that Engineers in the District are working on the tracks for the expansion of the scope of services to the Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state saying that, “The moment we fixed the tracks up to Alkaleri, believe me, we will start to run our trains as well as Gombe in the District".
