The Ogiyan of Ejigbo Land, Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyesosin, has commended Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the State of Osun for the infrastructural developments in the community, adding that Ejigbo had never experienced so much progress in its history as it is enjoying under the administration of Oyetola.

The Ogiyan of Ejigbo, speaking during the commissioning of the 20km Ejigbo-Ara-Ojo-Ede road, said Ejigbo happened to be one of the very old towns in yorubaland, founded at about the same time with Oyo Ile, but had since been relegated to the background.

The monarch lauded the developmental strides of Oyetola since the inception of his administration, stating that he allowed himself to be used by God to solve the problems of the community.

He said: “I have never seen this kind of Governor before. He is powerful by virtue of his office, yet he does not assert himself. He is a great listener and a man who is very open to counsel. That explains why he is succeeding.

“He listened to us about this road, and we can see the results today. The road was so terrible before his intervention, that even the bravest person dared not thread the path. But the story has changed today.

“History will be kind to you for what you have done in this town. God has raised you because of people like us who are the masses”, the Ogiyan stated.

In his remarks, the Chief Imam of Ejigbo Land, Imam Jamiu Salaudeen, described the Ejigbo-Ara-Ojo-Ede road as impassable before the intervention of Oyetola.

He said: “Anyone who tried driving through the road in the past was considered a waster and spoiler. But today, the story has changed.

“There were no infrastructures before his time and that had a very huge impact on business presence in the community. It also affected the choice of profession and occupation of indigenes of this community because our choices were limited.

“Today, we have a General Hospital that was earlier reconstructed and a long span of road. We have no doubt that this road will open this community up to greater opportunities, and we are confident that you will help us open up other roads leading to this community towards boosting commerce in this place”, the Imam stated.
