Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has charged broadcasting stations to uphold integrity and responsible journalism during the commissioning of Kings 87.9 FM in Iragbiji, Osun State.

The Governor represented by the Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, Professor Habibat Adubiaro, lauded the initiative behind establishing the radio station.

He commended the radio station’s CEO, Barrister Abimbola Amusan, and the CEO of Vesti fintech hub, Mr. Olusola Amusan, for unveiling Kings FM.

The Governor charged the station’s management to uphold professional conduct as stipulated by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

Speaking, the CEO of Kings FM said that the radio station is part of a N50 billion investment in various sectors.

The CEO assured that the station would follow NBC guidelines and serve the community in the best ethical way possible.

In their seperate words, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Olabomi, and the Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Joseph Olubiyi, sought the promotion of Yoruba culture and urged the station to roll out programmes that would help revive indigenous languages, promote unity, and create employment opportunities for local youths.
