The Elerinmo of Erinmo Kingdom in Oriade local government area of Osun State, Oba Michael Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya II, on Tuesday bagged the most outstanding Face of Living Hero of Traditional Institution Distinguished Noble & Custodian of Yoruba Tradition Award 2022.
The award according to the President of the Life Value Awareness & Leadership Secure Initiative, Mr Oladipo Musibau, was to recognise the Elerinmo’s efforts in transforming peoples lives.
The award organiser said, Oba Arowotawaya’s sacrifice for humanity and exemplary leadership is what set him apart for the award of a living hero of the year.
“The Elerinmo’s innovator of multiple ideas in leadership is an achiever, ambassador of peace as well as a unique leader per excellent who has contributed and still contributing immensely to the royalty and to traditional rulership of our dear country is very worthy of the honour.
” The profile and the achievement of Oba Arowotawaya is very comprehensive, intimidating, loaded and numerous. All these have earn him this honour of the prestigious award”.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Arowotawaya who was highly elated appreciated the group behind the award for counting him worthy for such an award at this point in time.
The Elerinmo who reiterated his efforts in pursuing welfare and betterment of his people in the ancient community called the entire residents to continue to be law abiding and do the little they can towards the development of entire Erinmo kingdom.
“Am not on the throne to sit down only in the palace but to ensure there is rapid development for the town, residents as both women and men empowerment is my concern and I would not relent.
” Am using this medium to call on son and daughter of Erinmo kingdom both at home and in diaspora to always be pursuing the upliftment of our town in all ramifications”.
Furthermore, Oba Arowotawaya has enjoined residents, indigenes, friends and associates of Erinmo to troop out in large numbers for this year celebration of Agidiyan festival.
It will be recalled that celebrating the festival was to remember the great progenitor of Erinmo who was Agidanyin the son of Obalufon Alayemore.
Agidanyin was a great fearless warrior who participated actively in several wars especially the numerous inter-tribal wars at that time.
Among the Kings who have joined the Elerinmo and the residents to celebrate Agidanyin festival in the past include, the Ooni of Ife, Alaaye of Efon Alaaye in EKiti state, Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa,
Ajalaiye of Ipetu-Ijesa.
The award presentation held at the Elerinmo’s palace was well attended by the traditional Chiefs and community leaders among others.
