The Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa Oba (Dr) Michael Odunayo Ajayi JP, Arowotawaya II on Saturday installed Pastor Babatola Faseru as Otunba Bobagbimo of Erinmo-Ijesa land.
At the installation ceremony which attracted beehive of activities especially dominated by palace drummers and dancers held at the Elerinmo’s Palace chambers in the morning despite the heavy down pour, the Elerinmo and the new Otunba were a delight to behold as they responded to the drums with dramatic dance steps which earned cheers and ovation.
During the ceremony which attracted business moguls, media practitioners, top politicians at state and federal levels and traditional rulers from far and near, Kabiyesi Elerinmo described Otunba Babatola Faseru as a dedicated, hard working, amiable, God-fearing and loyal fellow whose installation as the Otunba Bobagbimo of Erinmo-Ijesa land was well deserved and long overdue in recognition of his past, current and future service to Erinmo Kingdom.
Oba Arowotawaya, congratulated the newly installed Chief and enjoined him to continue to keep up the good work adding that his Chieftaincy title would continue to bring love, peace and upliftment to the ancient Erinmo land and to him personally.
While responding, the new Otunba Bobagbimo of Erinmo-Ijesa land, described Oba Arowotawaya as a traditional ruler whose good name and personality preceded his enthronement as Elerinmo owing to his philanthropic gestures, detribalised posture, worldwide connections and exposure adding that the Monarch has always been a man of honour with good poise and carriage that befits royalty.
In his words, Otunba Bobagbimo who was highly elated said, “Kabiyesi thank you very much, I also thank the Elerinmo in Council as well as residents of Erinmo-Ijesa land, you will always be divinely guided Kabiyesi as you continue to direct the affairs of Erinmo-Ijesa people, among whom I am now one as one of your Chiefs.
” I promise to remain a loyal and dedicated Chief to the Elerinmo and entire Erinmo-Ijesa land by answering to my duties as the Otunba Bobagbimo anytime the need arises”.
The installation ceremony which coincides with this year’s Children’s day also witnessed Oba Arowotawaya playing host as he does annually to about1000 Erinmo school children.
While addressing the children at his Country Home, the Elerinmo felicitated with them and entire Nigerian children as they joined their counterparts globally in celebrating this year’s International Children Day.
” I urge you all to imbibe and exhibit the virtues of hard work, diligence, discipline, honesty, selflessness and patriotism which are essentials ingredients for the actualisation of greatness.
“As parents, we must always celebrate and promote the children welfare, right and recognize their importance in society.
” The growth of the Children’s cultural, educational, emotional, religious mindset is the duty of every parents, and it is a must not to fail in this regard.
“The task of training up a child should not be left to government alone, as parents have their roles to play in raising these children n Goldy way.
” As we pray for God’s protection, may we all live to witness and celebrate 2024 Children’s day and beyond, in good health, peace and progress in every area of our lives. I congratulates you all children ” the Elerinmo concluded.
The children in their large numbers where later served with good food and gifts under the supervision of Her Highness Olori Adedolapo and several headteachers from Erinmo public and private schools.
Oba Arowotawaya later proceeded to Ijebu-Jesa to attend the installation of Otunba Tola Faseru as Baba Egbe Aya Bishop of the St Mathews Anglican Communion Cathedral in Ijebu Jesa followed by reception party in honour of the the double chief held at the newly build Femi Faseru event centre incidentally built by his younger brother , Pastor Femi Faseru.
