Emma Raducanu showed off her piano skills and seemingly showed a little appreciation and respect for Rafael Nadal. In her latest update on Instagram, Raducanu revealed she has been playing some piano while recovering from multiple surgeries.
Raducanu back on the practice court
In May, Raducanu surgically addressed injuries on both of her wrists, as well as her right ankle. After starting gym work last month, Raducanu also returned to the practice court earlier this month.
The US Open is starting next week and it is clear that this year’s tournament won’t feature its 2021 champion. But Raducanu missing the US Open isn’t surprising since the general belief is that the 20-year-old will return only when she feels fully healthy and ready to do so.
Just recently, former British star Laura Robson advised Raducanu not to rush her comeback. Also, Robson advised Raducanu to look at the examples of Elina Svitolina and Caroline Wozniacki and draw inspiration from them. “We know she has got the game to do it.
She has the ball striking ability, she is a great mover and a great all-round player and she competes. All you can do is stay as healthy as possible and try to play as many matches as possible to see where you go. Other players have come back very quickly in this last year.
Svtolina has been amazing to watch and then Wozniacki has looked amazing considering she has not played in three and a half years. There are lots of players for Emma to look up to as examples of how quickly it can come back and not to get too disheartened if it doesn’t because everyone is on their own journey,” Robson told Tennis365.
