Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho has hinted he would like manager Erik ten Hag to hand him the club’s iconic No. 7 shirt.
Cristiano Ronaldo was the last of the icons to have worn the No. 7 jersey at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo left the club in November 2022, shortly before the FIFA World Cup in Qatar following a faceoff with ten Hag.
Garnacho made his debut for the Red Devils in their 1-1 Premier League draw against Chelsea under Ralf Rangnick in April 2022.
He has scored four goals in 29 appearances across competitions for the former Premier League title holders.
The Argentine was rewarded with a new deal last week and the youngster has hinted at a desire to take on the famed No. 7 shirt.
The 18-year-old suggested that he’s ready to wear the iconic jersey by liking a tweet from a fan that said: “Give Garnacho the 7 shirt.”
