Member of the House of Representatives representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in Osun State, Hon. Oluwole Oke, has commended President Bola Tinubu for conferring the prestigious Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) award posthumously on the late Chief Bola Ige, SAN.

This was contained in a official communique released on Friday, Hon. Oke described the late Chief Bola Ige as a distinguished patriot, former Governor of Old Oyo State, and exemplary Attorney-General of the Federation.

He noted that the award is a fitting recognition of Chief Ige’s unwavering commitment to justice, democracy, and national unity.

Hon. Oke commended President Tinubu for his foresight and commitment to honouring Nigeria’s heroes, stating that the award will rekindle national pride and inspire younger generations to emulate Chief Ige’s dedication to public service.

According to release; “As the elected representative of Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in Osun State, I, Honourable Oluwole Oke, wish to personally express my deepest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the posthumous conferment of the prestigious national honour, Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR), on the late Chief Bola Ige, SAN.

“Chief Bola Ige, the Cicero of Esa-Oke, was a distinguished patriot, a former Governor of Old Oyo State, and an exemplary Attorney-General of the Federation. This honour is a fitting and long-overdue recognition of a towering Nigerian statesman whose unwavering commitment to justice, democracy, and national unity has left an indelible mark on the history of our great nation.

“Chief Bola Ige’s legacy is one of courage, integrity, and visionary leadership — qualities that continue to inspire and guide Nigeria’s democratic journey. His life and work remain a beacon of hope and resilience, not only for Osun State but for all Nigerians.

I wish to state unequivocally:

“Chief Bola Ige was not only a son of Osun State but a beacon of hope and resilience for all Nigerians. This recognition by President Tinubu is a testament to the enduring impact of his contributions to our country’s development and democratic ideals. It reminds us that true patriotism transcends time and that the values he stood for remain vital to our collective progress.”

I also commend President Tinubu for his foresight and unwavering commitment to honouring the heroes of Nigeria. This posthumous award will rekindle national pride and inspire younger generations to emulate the late Chief’s exemplary dedication to public service.

In celebrating the life and legacy of Chief Bola Ige, I call on all Nigerians to reflect on his sacrifices and to join hands in continuing the work of building a just, united, and prosperous nation.
