An Associate Professor of Business and Entrepreneurship Education, Kwara State University, Dr Lawrence Femi Ademiluyi has been elected as the National President of the Association of Business Educators of Nigeria (ABEN).
He succeeds Professor Chika Ile of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
ABEN is the umbrella Association for all practitioners of Business pedagogy at all levels of education throughout Nigeria.
It was founded in 1984 and numbers Professors Olu Aina, Lawrence Ekpenyong, Basil Nwosu and Titus Umoru among its past leaders.
Ademiluyi was elected at the 34th Annual National Conference of the Association which held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State from 12th to 15th October, 2022.
Other officers elected at the conference included; Dr. Felicia Nwokike, Dr. Mohammed Modibo, and Ogbonaya Okike (Vice Presidents), Dr. Joy Amesi (National Secretary), Dr. Agnes Okute ( Assistant General Secretary), Dr. Christiana Enang (Treasurer), Dr. Fidelis Amahi (Financial Secretary), Dr. Peter Oluwafemi (Assistant Financial Secretary), Dr. Samson Wagbara (PRO), and Dr. Fidelis Amahi ( Financial Secretary).
Ademiluyi was, at different times, Head of Department, Dean of Faculty, Director of Entrepreneurship Education, and two-term Deputy Rector in Osun State Polytechnic Iree before joining the services of Kwara State University, Malete, Ilorin. Ademiluyi is also an award-winning writer whose novel, THE NEW MAN, was for years a JAMB recommended Literature text.
It has also been a recommended text in several universities. His tenure as ABEN National President is for two years in the first instance.
While giving his acceptance speech, Ademiluyi assured members of the association that he would consolidate on the efforts of his predecessors in upifting the banner of the association to ensure effective professionalism in Business and Enterprenurship Education in Nigeria.
Before his election as the national President, he has served the association in several capacities and he is currently the Managing Editor of Nigerian Journal of Business Education, the Association’s journal published annually.
