A fire outbreak has reportedly destroyed the Adamawa State University, (ADSU) Mubi building of the Faculty of Management Sciences.
The development was disclosed by the state Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, who is on a three-day business visit to the northern region of Adamawa on Saturday.
The governor, who was led around the affected university faculty building by the university’s Acting Vice Chancellor, Dr Stephen Lagu, expressed his condolences to the university’s management, staff, and students following the fire catastrophe.
The governor promised not just an immediate reconstruction of the damaged structure, but also a solar power system to supply electricity to the university.
He explained that his government has collaborated with SDGs to build one huge solar farm.
He stated that the design will be enough for both the existing and surrounding freshly created campus of the university.
“This university is dear to the government and people of our state. We as a government will do all it takes to ensure that the institution maintains its ranking in the country,” Fintiri said.
