The Gboleru Ruling House of Ikirun, State of Osun, has written Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and the State Government, stressing the need to comply with the law and exercise restrain in installating Prince Olalekan Akadiri as the New Akirun of Ikirun.

In a letter dated November 18, 2021 and obtained by OSUN DEFENDER yesterday, counsel to the royal family, T.S. Adegboyega referred the government to the pending appeal against the judgement of Justice Oyejide Falola and the application for the stay of execution of the said judgement as well as the prayer for injunction to restrain all parties from giving effect to the said judgement.

The Gboleru Ruling House urged the government to allow the law take its full course and stay all actions relating to filing the vacant stool of the Akirun till the final determination of the case by the Akure Division of the Court of Appeal.

The counsel wrote: “We are to bring to your honoured notice the pending Appeal against the judgment of the Court, Coram Honourable Justice S. O. Falola delivered on the 5th day of November, 2021 and the application for stay of execution of the said judgment as well as the prayer for injunction to restrain all parties from giving effect to the said judgement.

“We kindly find attached advanced copy of the processes already filled before the Court showing the intentions of our Cilent to contest the judgment of the Osun State High Court sitting in Ikirun at the Court of Appeal, Akure among others.

“We hope your good office will allow the Rule of Law to take its normal course and stay all actions relating to the filling of the vacant stool of Akirun of Ikirun till the final determination by the Court of the land.”

Gboleru Ruling House is originally next in line to produce the new Akinrun of Ikirun. But Justice Falola of a State High Court, sitting in Ikirun, had ruled on a suit before the court that since Gboleru ruling house was unable to settle for a candidate, the next ruling house after it should produce the new Akinrun.
