Gov Adeleke Declares Himself As Asiwaju Of Osun

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke on Monday desclared himself as the Asiwaju of State.

Adeleke made declaration after his official installation as the Asiwaju Of Edeland by the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal in Ede.

The governor who spoke on a lighter mood said, “To all Asiwaju title holders of various towns in Osun State, I welcome myself into your midst. On a lighter mood, I believe you are eager to receive me not just as the Asiwaju of Edeland but as the Asiwaju of Osun State.

Adeleke noted that his conferment as Asiwaju of Ede town is a commendation for the contributions of my family to the development of his town.

He said, “Dear friends and associates, your presence today strengthens my resolve to further devote myself to the service of the people.

“You will continue to find in me a true peoples’ servant, a good listener and an agent of good governance.

“As i assume this new role, i seek the cooperation, prayers and support of all and sundry for our dedication to take osun to a greater height.

“Friends at home and abroad, join us as we intensely deliver dividends of democracy.

“As I am accepting the title of asiwaju of Edeland today before God and man, I dedicate it to my late father and mother; to my late brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke; to my big brother, Dr. adedeji Adeleke; and my darling sister, the Yeyeluwa of Edeland, Chief Dupe Adeleke-sanni,” he said

The former Governor of Osun State, Isiaka Adeleke, who was the brother of the incumbent Governor of the state who passed on in 2017 was the immediate past Asiwaju of Edeland. The event also marked double honours for Governor Adeleke who also marked his 64th birthday today.

Dignitaries from far and near were at the installation and birthday ceremony of the governor which includes, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, and former Governors of Oyo, Rasheed Ladoja, Ondo, Olusegun Mimiko and Osun, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, including the prominent traditional rulers like the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Makama Oyelude, Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin.
