Ishola Michael – Bauchi

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed who was recently re-elected for a second term, on Friday, received his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Governor alongside his Deputy, Auwal Jatau as well as the 31 elected members of the State House of Assembly received the certificates returned at the Bauchi State office of the INEC having been declared as the winners of the 18th March Governorship and State Assembly Elections in the state.

While receiving the certificate, Bala Mohammed assured people of the state that he will consolidate the good governance established from the beginning of his administration towards sustainable development.

The Governor who expressed gratitude for the orderly and peaceful conduct of the election promised to reciprocate the collective efforts of the common man through the provision of people-oriented projects across the State.

The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mohammed Nura said that the presentation of the Certificates of Return was in compliance with the Electoral Act which guides the Independent National Electoral Commission in all its operations, he thereafter congratulated all the winners.

The Governor was accompanied to the INEC office by a mammoth crowd of supporters and well-wishers who were drumming, singing and dancing to express their happiness over the development.

Bala Mohammed was thereafter received by another set of mammoth crowd of supporters and well-wishers at the Ramat House.

It will be recalled that immediately after he was declared winner of the gubernatorial election, rumours have been going around that he will not be issued with the certificate of return to due what the rumour mongers described as irregularities during the conduct of the gubernatorial election.
