Osun State Governor, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, has promised to ensure all round development in Ijesaland.
Adeleke made the promise while speaking at Iwude Ijesa festival on Saturday, according to a report by Mrs Tobiloba-Taiwo Awofadeju, who is the Information Officer of Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Mr Sunday Adewusi, appreciated the people of Ijesaland for their support during the July 16 governorship election, promising that they will all benefit from his forthcoming dividends of democracy.
He urged the people of Ijesaland and the State in general to massively vote for his party, Peoples Democratic Party, in the 2023 general elections.
Speaking at event, the Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, commended the Ijesa people for their unity and commitment to the development of the area.
Owoeye urged the entire Ijesaland to always embrace peace and toe the path of progress.
In his royal message, the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Dr Adekunle Aromolan enjoined Ijesa sons and daughters not to forget their ancestral home.
Oba Aromolan encouraged the Ijesa indigenes, at home and in the diaspora, to invest in Ijesaland for the development of the area, just as he prayed for them to prosper in their various endeavours.
The Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Sen. Adenigba Fadahunsi, promised that the Iwude Ijesa Secretariat would be completed before next year festival, promising that the project will be a good point of reference to many others.
Fadahunsi noted that leaders in Ijesaland are visionaries and worthy of emulation.
The presentation of gifts to the first , second and third positions in the Iwude Ijesha unity soccer cup, held on Friday, December 23, 2022, was part of the activities that lit the festival.
Among other government functionaries who were present at the festival were the Directors and workers from the Osun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism .
