Osun Central Senatorial District
Youths Stakeholders Council, (YSC) on Monday passed a vote of confidence on the Senate spokesman Senator Ajibola Basiru, urging him to re-contest in the forthcoming general elections to continue his quality representation.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday in Osogbo, the leader of the group, Comrade Jamiu Babawale said the Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly is the most active, vibrant, accessible, and impactful the district has ever had.

Babawale further said that the level of the vibrancy of Sen. Ajibola Basiru has helped him to sponsor the highest number of beneficial bills and motions at the National Assembly.

He added that Senator Basiru has done wonderfully well in terms of projects which he said were of benefit to the people of the Senatorial District.

According to Babawale, “As a group, we are conscious about our society, we are young active citizens and unlike taking laws into our own hands, we have decided to take leadership into our own hands.

“Distinguished Senator Ajibola Basiru’s laudable and impactful projects in all spheres of life has earned him our vote of Confidence and we hereby unequivocally make an open call to him to come and re-contest as the Senator of Osun Central Senatorial District.

“As youths in the state, it’s pertinent to also applaud the Osun State Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon Lekan Badmus’s recent stride to patronize local young farmers like Ahmed Raji, the producer of Garri Ode-Omu for the Osun Food Support Scheme, we are confident that this would not only revitalize the state’s agricultural industry but also give entrepreneurs hopes of survival and business development.”

However, the group calls on the government to ensure that more young entrepreneurs are given more support so that Osun State SMEs would be empowered to have the required capacity for our state consumption and exportation.

“As youths, we are also resolute to support the emergence of young people into the Osun state house of assembly come 2023, important not only because we’re youths but because we’re competent and we want more of us to represent the voice of every young person in the state,” Babawale said,
