Following a heavy rainfall at the earlier hours on Thursday, a 4-year-old baby has been swept away by floodwaters in Papa Asafa Orile Agege, Lagos state.
Currently, a rescue team has been deployed to recover yet to be identified child.
Sources revealed that the incident occurred around 10 am during the torrential rainfall.
The Director-General of LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu in a submission stated that that the agency received a distress call from a witness and at the moment they are doing all they can to rescue the little child.
He said;
“Response team from the agency has been dispatched immediately with search and rescue operation ongoing.”
