A young football team of Osogbo, the Osun state capital, on Saturday, defeated the Young Star Football Club of Ile-Ife, to become the winner of the 2022 edition of the Community Shield Cup.
The competition tagged “Hidayah Entrepreneur Football Competition,” was another avenue to discover the rich potentials in young and talented football players, mostly from the grassroots.
The final which was keenly contested saw the teams battle goalless at regulation time before the Osogbo team won 6-5 in the penalty shootout.
In an address, the convener of the tournament, Coach Lateef Lawal, said the game is open to all Youths who would like to further their sporting career and to achieve greatness in life.
Lawal further said that this year’s competition was to mark the 4th anniversary of making impacts and building entrepreneurs which began in January 2018.
Lawal said, “I am very happy to be here today because the theme of this programme is of utmost importance to us and very relevant in the ever-evolving world we are living in today. This is our maiden Community Shield Cup ‘2022 to motivate the youth towards achieving their dreams.
“Hidayah Entrepreneur was established four years ago mainly to impact lives and build entrepreneurs. This is our way of helping to tackle the unemployment challenges in the African continent.
“HA. Ents Football Academy has been affiliated with Osun State Chapter of the Nigerian Football Federation to support and organise sporting events for the youth to empower them to make their sporting dreams come true.”
Hidayah Entrepreneur; a Nigerian Organisation with a very strong presence in Africa and the Gulf Region, is a pro-people empowerment organisation.
Speaking, the CEO of Hidayah Entrepreneurs, Chief Mrs. Idayat Akanji-Ogunlade said, her organisation will continue to work towards discovering talents that will be of immense help to the growth and development of Nigeria in the coming years.
