Music executive Soso Soberekon has recalled he warned embattled Instagram celebrity Hushpuppi about his imminent arrest.
Soberekon admitted the arrest of Hushpuppi wasn’t surprising to him as he had always anticipated it.
According to Soberekon, he used to hang out with the convicted internet fraudster whenever he visited Dubai.
Prior to Hushpuppi’s arrest, the artiste manager claimed he cautioned him about his lavish spending and online wealth display, noting all those could lead to his eventual arrest
He said: “I mentioned such to him. I told him that, that can happen to him. I told him it was possible for that to happen to him. So I was not surprised. I pray he’ll scale through, I pray”.

Admonishing young people who follow that path or look for quick-and-easy ways to make money, the entertainment boss added: “I think everybody just needs to be patient because I find it heartbreaking when I see young people doing money ritual.
“Apart from fraud, I find it heartbreaking when I see young people going into some kind of crime because they are trying to go up to the fast lane to make quick money.
“Even sometimes, when I see…I might be in a particular place and I see some young boys, even the attitude they present out there is not even encouraging at all. I just believe everybody should be patient.”
In November 2022, Hushpuppi was sentenced to 11 years and 3 months in federal prison in US by Justice Otis Wright II, for conspiring to launder tens of millions of dollars from online scams.
