The Chairman of the Governing Board of Management, Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Asaba, Dr Mary Alile Idele has reaffirmed her commitment to improving the hospital’s infrastructure, and staff welfare and ensuring overall service delivery.
Idele, who was on a familiarisation tour of the centre to assess its current state, commended the hospital’s management and staff for their dedication to providing quality healthcare.
She emphasised the importance of strategic planning to enhance healthcare delivery at the institution, especially as the facility is clean and provides top-notch healthcare.
Speaking with journalists after a tour of the facility, Idele said: “The speed at which this centre has grown is commendable. I have toured the facilities, interacted with staff, and observed that the centre is providing top-notch healthcare.”
According to her, the neonatal and maternity wards have firsthand modern equipment, well-trained personnel, and a high standard of patient care.
“The hospital has the manpower and training capacity to produce well-equipped doctors and nurses. I also visited the College of Nursing in Oniche-Uku and was impressed by the first-class facilities and conducive learning environment. Idele, therefore, commended the Medical Director of FMC Asaba, Dr Victor Osiatuma, and described his leadership as instrumental to the hospital’s progress.
While acknowledging the progress made, Idele also pointed out several ongoing projects that remain uncompleted due to insufficient funding. “We need continuous funding to ensure they are completed and put to use,” she said.
