Iga Swiatek took a moment to congratulate Carlos Alcaraz on “an incredible performance” against Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final. On Sunday, 20-year-old Alcaraz added more success to his name after beating Djokovic 1-6 7-6 (6) 6-1 3-6 6-4 for his first Wimbledon title.
Prior to this year’s Wimbledon final, Djokovic had a 7/8 record in Wimbledon finals and he was without a loss at The Championships since 2017. But Alcaraz had other plans and he became the first player since 2017 to beat Djokovic at Wimbledon.”Congratulations Champ!

After becoming a Grand Slam champion at the 2022 US Open, it took Alcaraz 10 months to win his second Grand Slam title. After winning it all at the most prestigious tournament in the world, Alcaraz admitted it was a dream come true for him.”Well, feels great.
It’s a dream come true for me, being a Wimbledon champion, something that I really wanted. Honestly, I didn’t expect to get it really soon. Yeah, it’s time to enjoy and share everything, all my feelings. Yeah, as I said, it’s a dream,” Alcaraz said.In the 2013 Wimbledon final, Djokovic suffered a straight-set defeat to Andy Murray.
It took 10 years before Djokovic was again beaten on the Centre Court at Wimbledon.”Well, I did it for myself, not for tennis generation, honestly. It was great. Beating Novak at his best, in this stage, making history, being the guy to beat him after 10 years unbeaten on that court, is amazing for me.
It’s something that I will never forget, that’s for sure. As I said, it’s great for the new generation, as well, I think to see me beating him and making them think that they are capable to do it, as well. It’s great for me and I think for the young players, as well,” Alcaraz said.
